The construction of the Tognella structure,
which is now part of the company’s mission,
was done in stages, covering the entire history
of its founders, Vittorino and Dorino, and their
families. The high level of trust between all
members of the family, the clear subdivision
of the various roles, a constant and open
comparison with the other concerns within the
Group, great respect for its collaborators, the
continuity and reinvestment of the profits, a
widespread feeling of trust with its customers
based on correctness and human relations,
original, reliable and quality products that are
capable of meeting both the requirements and
expectations of the clientele whilst promoting
the corporate image have all enabled the
company to become a success on both a
national and international level.
There are many important dates in the history of
a company that celebrated its 50th anniversary
back in 2007. Its foundation in 1957 with the
Officina Meccanica F.lli Tognella, where the
main business as subcontractors was flanked
with the production of clamps, cylinders and
presses; but, progressively, the entrepreneurial
sensitivity of the founders saw the company
veering towards pneumatic components, with
the first catalogue being introduced in 1966 at
Fiera Campionaria in Milan.
In the mid 1990s, FT moved to its current
site in Somma Lombardo and set up the
Special Service Seprio, which deals with
manufacturing special ‘tailor-made’ equipment
and components. In 2000 it took over 50%
of Costante Sesino SpA, a company which
manufactures standard and special water-
air and air-oil heat exchangers. For FT
the operation was strategic to the goal of
expanding its product portfolio with synergic
supplies. A Group was created, which was
later joined by National System, a consultancy
agency operative within the non-destructive
analysis instrumentation industry, and Lametars
di Milano, a company that manufactures plastic
components for the household appliances
industry, as well as metal components for the
industry in general.
The product portfolio is extensive and includes
in-line single acting, control and interception
valves, pressure compensated flow control
valves, plate check valves, ball valves, control
valves made out of moulded OT 58, steel gauge
isolators, connectors, modular valves, solenoid
valves and pressure switches.
The application industries range from machine
tools to earth-moving machinery, plus farming
machinery, machines for converting polymers,
machines for machining marble and wood
and others for the petrochemical industry.
The thing that has always characterised and
still characterises production at FT today is its
originality, essentiality and reliability: in a word,
the quality of its products.
