ural Gnutti is one of the main players
on a European level when it comes to
making profiles and extruded/drawn
bars out of aluminium alloy. The company
consists of two production sites, both of which
are located in the district of Brescia: everything
starts at the foundry in Pontevico with the
production of billets, and then continues at
the plant in Rovato, where the billets become
semi-manufactured parts earmarked for
industrial purposes. The factories, which, as a
whole, are spread out over an area of 400,000
m
2
and provide jobs for more than 400 people,
produce tens of thousands of tons of aluminium
per year, 70% of which is exported all over the
world. 80% of the semi-manufactured products
that Eural Gnutti makes is made up of extruded
and drawn bars, round or shaped, generated
by three presses based on inverse technology,
the biggest of which, 5,500 tons, is installed in
a latest generation plant. The remaining 20%,
however, is made up of profiles, extruded using
two presses (1,600 and 2,800 tons) based
on direct technology. Most of the profiles that
are made are developed exclusively for the
customers. Nevertheless, Eural Gnutti owns
hundreds of pieces tools it uses to make and
supply standard semi-manufactured parts for
pneumatic actuators, heat sinks, hydraulic
components, structural elements and much
more. The alloys that are produced for the
bars, for machining or forging, are 2011, 2007,
2030, 2017A, 2024, 6026, 6064A, 6082, 6061,
6262, 6262A and 7075. Those used for the
profiles are 6060, 6063, 6005, 6082, 6026
and 7003. Providing a quality service to the
automotive industry is the reason why Eural
Gnutti, in 2008, received the ISO TS 16949
certification, the specific quality standard
for the industry required by all the main car
manufacturing companies. What’s more, it
has introduced an automatic ultrasonic test
system which certifies the complete integrity
of all the billets produced at the foundry, in
accordance with Class A of the SAE AMS-STD
2154 standard. It also has the ISO 9001 and
ISO 14001 certifications .
