t the Hannover show, Var-
vel will present the new
series of bevel/helical ge-
arboxes with two stages reducers,
which will join the current RO-RV
series, designed for all handling sy-
stems that are characterized by ef-
ficiency and robustness.
The entire design process was con-
ducted by the R&D department,
using the most modern gear cal-
culation software and structural
analysis programs to verify the
deformations of the housings. In
response to the market demand
for bevel/helical gearboxes instead
of traditional worm drives for lower
torque reducers, Varvel will pre-
sent a new product at the fair: the
RO02, a right-angle gearbox, size
0. The new range consists of four
sizes: RO02 (torque 120 Nm and
hollow shaft up to 25 mm), RO12
(torque 200 Nm and hollow shaft
up to 30 mm), RO22 (torque 330
Nm and hollow shaft up to 35 mm),
RO32 (torque 550 Nm and hollow
shaft up to 40 mm).
Among its features is a perfor-
mance that is 20 to 30% higher
than the leading competitors. Also
noteworthy is the fact that the re-
duction ratios range from 1:5.2 to
1:51.5 for a total of 20 reduction
ratios, satisfying all the market’s
gearbox speed requirements. The
monolithic gear unit housing mo-
nolithic, with the option of fixing
it to the frame through an increa-
sed number of holes as compared
to that of the main competitors,
brings great benefits to the tor-
sional rigidity of the gear unit, and
therefore in securing the user’s ap-
plication.
Also featured in the new series
are all the advantages of the exi-
sting range of Varvel gearboxes,
such as the flexible G input cou-
pling, the motor flanges common to
all reducer ranges, output flanges,
single and double output shafts,
and the hollow output shaft with
shrink and torque arms of the cur-
rent range of bevel/helical gearbo-

gonali a due coppie di riduzione,
che andrà ad aggiungersi alla at-
tuale serie RO-RV, e indirizzata a
tutti i sistemi di movimentazione
che si distinguono per efficienza e
robustezza.
L’intero processo di progettazione
è stato svolto dalla divisione R&D
con l’utilizzo dei più moderni soft-
ware di calcolo ingranaggi e l’ausi-
lio di programmi di analisi struttu-
rale per la verifica delle deforma-
zioni delle carcasse. Se il mercato
richiede anche per coppie inferiori
riduttori ad assi ortogonali al po-
sto dei tradizionali riduttori a vite
senza fine, Varvel risponde con
nuovo riduttore che verrà esposto
alla fiera: il riduttore ad assi orto-
gonali grandezza 0, il RO02.
La nuova gamma è composta da
quattro grandezze: RO02 (coppia
120 Nm e albero cavo massimo
25 mm), RO12 (coppia 200 Nm
e albero cavo massimo 30 mm),
RO22 (coppia 330 Nm e albe-
ro cavo massimo 35 mm), RO32
(coppia 550 Nm e albero cavo
massimo 40 mm). Tra le caratte-
ristiche, la prestazione, superiore
del 20-30% a quella dei principali
competitor. Notevole anche il fat-
to che i rapporti di riduzione siano
compresi da 1/5,2 fino a 1/51,5
per un totale di 20 rapporti di ri-
duzione, soddisfacendo tutte le
richieste di velocità all’albero lento
del riduttore.
L’aver reso la carcassa del ridutto-
re monolitica, con la possibilità di
utilizzare forature di fissaggio al
telaio aumentate rispetto a quelle
della principale concorrenza, ap-
porta grandi benefici nella rigidità
torsionale del riduttore e quindi
nel fissaggio all’applicazione dell’u-
tente. Si sommano alla nuova serie
tutte le positività dell’attuale gam-
ma di riduttori Varvel, quali il giun-
to elastico G in entrata e le flange
motore comuni a tutte la gamme
di riduttori, le flange uscita, gli al-
beri lenti semplici e doppi, l’albero
uscita con calettatore e i bracci di
reazione della attuale gamma di ri-
duttori ad assi ortogonali.
