Vestas Wind Systems, a global manufacturer of wind turbines, selected the Sustainable wind turbines industry solution experience by Dassault Systèmes in order to standardize its manufacturing systems and supply chain processes across sites worldwide. Vestas has 19 manufacturing facilities globally, with more than 56.800 wind turbines installed in 75 countries across six continents, and thanks to Dassault solution will be able to produce any product in any plant as it expands to new locations, ensuring maximum flexibility compliant with cost and quality goals, suiting the wind energy volatile market in accordance with local requirements.
The Sustainable wind turbines solution, based on the 3DExperience platform, leverages Delmia Apriso applications, providing engineering, manufacturing and project management capabilities integrating multidisciplinary information in a global collaborative environment. It will allows the company to virtually plan and validate the manufacturing process before starting the production, minimizing production costs, shop floor delays and issues in a globally expanding business strategy, and throughout a wind turbine’s 20-year design lifecycle.
