Thermoplastics with hybrid fillers reinforcement by XeniaERT

Italian company Xenia, specialized in the development and production of thermoplastic composites, has introduced Xebrid, a new family of materials reinforced with hybrid fillers, composed of carbon and glass fibers mixtures. The two fibers act together in synergy lending the polymers absolute features and reinforcement performances.

Fiberglass is universally known as a reinforcement due to its mechanical properties, while carbon fiber combines rigidity and lightness. The two materials can be combined in variable percentages together with different polymer matrices, allowing to obtain a wide range of physical-mechanical properties depending on the selected type of application. The most ideal use of Xebrid is as a metal replacement, in order to optimize cost, performance and process technologies, in such sectors as industrial and agricultural equipment, construction and oil & gas.

Xebrid’s advantages can also be applied in all applications where lightness joined to mechanical properties and processability are the main requirement, for example in sporting equipment, mobility & transportation and aeronautics.
