Moog Animatics presents the integrated system SmartMotor for yarn and thread winding and spooling applications in the textile industry. The solution, distributed in Italy by Smart Automation, includes a brushless servomotor with driver and CNC card housed in the frame. The winding program is located on the motor on a pull-out chip, and the motor can be programmed to stand-alone, or operate as part of a RS232 or RS485 serial network, as well as communicating with all the fieldbuses in more complex machines.
The operator easily programs the basic functions, included in the operative system of the SmartMotor in order to solve typical problems of the application, such as the rapid reverse of the feeding yarn guide and the definition of length and profile of the spool. The solution also allow to control over 120 spooling devices at a time through fieldbus, reducing total cabling costs and set-up. The core of the SM23165 system, composed by CNC, drive, encoder and PLC integrated in the motor, is the Animatics Motion Control Chip, a single micro-controller that handles all the processing functions of the SmartMotor, including PID, trajectory generator, the user program execution and the I/O control.
