Switchgear manufacturing 4.0 Rittal in Germany
Rittal opened its new Rittal Innovation Center in Haiger, Germany, for control and switchgear manufacturing 4.0, offering customers and developers a special interactive insight into the manufacturing value chains. The center aims to show hands-on the potential of Industry 4.0 in control and switchgear production, developing solutions ranging from engineering, material delivery, component preparation and processing, right through the finished product. All the process steps being unified around the digital twin of a virtual prototype of an enclosure.
On a surface of 1.200 msq, the Center founded by Rittal and its sister companies Eplan and Cideon emulates an actual manufacturing operation, allowing customers, developers and salespersons to discuss all process steps directly at stations that are outfitted with machinery and tools based on specific everyday situations. The Engineering area shows how plant constructors can speed up engineering planning processes using intelligent tools and device data from the Eplan Data portal and others Eplan and Rittal engineering solutions. The System section explains using real applications the savings and major benefits of the Rittal components, starting from enclosures and housing systems, power distribution systems and through to climate control solutions.
Finally, the Automation area allows to experiment the efficiency of Rittal Automation Systems solutions, from handling tools via mechanical processing systems, such as machining and 3D laser centers, through automatic terminal block assembly and intelligent data-assisted wiring aids.
