Agreement reached in simulation software for the acquisition of MSC Software by Hexagon, to be completed in April 2017. MSC will continue to run as an independent business unit within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) division, enhancing its ability to offer additional process oriented solutions from design to manufacturing by joining forces with Hexagon.
MI’s main businesses are in the automotive, aerospace, machinery, consumer electronics and other discrete manufacturing markets. The acquisition of MSC is a strategic game-changer in the mission of Hexagon to deliver actionable manufacturing intelligence, taking the company another step closer to realizing its smart connected factory vision in discrete manufacturing industries. Hexagon can now leverage the data generated by its MI division to improve design choices and processes upstream in the workflow. The operation will also open up new market and touch-points for MSC, via Hexagon’s Process, power & marine division.
