CD-adapco presents the release of Star-CCM+ v11.02, aimed to speed up modeling and simplify the exploration of critical simulation results. The release introduces Data Focus, a visualization technique to explore and interrogate analysis results interactively, linking the quantitative and qualitative levels of data, offering a live and interactive link between numerical data in plots and visual data in scenes. Engineers can then gain better insight understanding large sets of interdependent data and complex 3D vector fields, in order to discover critical better designs faster.

The release also includes 40 new features, coming from ideas submitted through the users’s forum IdeaStorm. Among them, the option for surface remeshing only on selected areas, speeding up modeling, and reduced turnaround time thanks to a more accurate particles representation using true cylinders, instead of collections of spheres. Others enhancements are co-extrusion in computational rheology, expanding software applications to complex extrusion processes, the accurate modeling of complex dynamic fluid body interactions in multi-body motion and modeling of fluid-structure interactions of rotating bodies, for the marine industry.
