Best works and achievements in multiphysics simulation and modeling have been awarded at the Comsol Conference 2016. Over 150 presentations from engineers and researchers from all around the world were presented, with innovative and inspiring papers and posters covering a variety of application areas, such as flow properties of shark skin, processes during cake baking and optimization of automotive loudspeaker systems, naming just a few.
Three papers and three posters were awarded Best Paper and Best Poster awards, and the winning projects came from a variety of fields featuring multiphysics modeling and simulation apps to solve practical engineering problems such as developing metasurface technology for light lenses, thermoelectric generator for waste heat recovery, modeling in selective laser melting and laser welding and thermal expansion in inductive heating of a gear wheel for shrink fitting purposes.
