Ferretti Group has selected Siemens PLM‘s ship design digitalization solutions to further optimize the design and production of its prestigious Ferretti Yachts and CRN brand. The italian Group will deploy the PLM software Teamcenter, selected for its ability to collect product design data from different PLM players in one open platform, and NX, fully integrated solution for computer-aided-design, manufacturing and engineering analysis (CAD, CAM, CAE), aiming to reduce time-to-market and lower production costs, while maintaining the superior quality and recognized exclusivity of the boats created by Ferretti Group.
The company will also leverage the Fibersim portfolio, to further enhance its composites design and production processes. Thanks to the Siemens’ solutions, the Group will be able to digitally capture its deep knowledge of yacht design combined with a fine expertise in hand-crafted production, in order to automate production enhancing global efficiency and data security, making product data instantly available not only within the production process but also to the entire company through Teamcenter.
Ferretti Group is thus replacing its legacy CAD software with NX, to establish a fully integrated 3D product development process for CRN and Ferretti Yachts. Both of these brands will then use Teamcenter to provide all pertinent employees with immediate access to the information needed, for rapid assessment, decision-making and re-use of best practices, maintaining competitive edge.
