Sheet metal working Prima Power in ABB

ABB inaugurated a new automatic line for the sheet metal working, supplied by the italian company Prima Power, in is plant in Dalmine, in the province of Bergamo. It is a Night Train system able to manage different sheet sizes up to 1.500×3.000mm, with storage connected to a Psbb line that includes a SGe6 punch press with right angle shear, sorting conveyor C1500, buffer SPB, PRS6/2 robot to manage components flow, and a bending machine EBe5 with unloading system on roller conveyor, served by a high capacity robot by ABB.

The Night Train FMS automates material and information systems of a facility, combining individual manufacturing stages into a single flexible process, and the systems are customized using the wide Prima Power range of high performance machine tools, integrated cells, automatic material handling solutions and software, with maximum modularity finding the most suitable solution for every application. The choice confirms and strengthens the relationship between ABB and Prima Power, a leading supplier of ABB in the field of metal carpentry for low and medium voltage rack gears. The ABB plant in Dalmine is a center of excellence at global level for the design and manufacturing of circuit breakers and medium voltage rack gears, representing a model for the whole ABB Group.
