Shanghai Electric and Siemens Energy cooperate in smart energyERT

Announced during the recent China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, Shanghai Electric and Siemens Energy will collaborate to establish a Smart energy empowerment center. The facility will aim to integrate artificial intelligence, digital technologies and industrial IoT, as well as upgrade the value chains of China’s and global energy industry.

The Shanghai Electric-Siemens Empower Center will allow the two companies to empower three main high-tech business sectors: smart manufacturing services, industrial software for smart operation and maintenance and digital services. It will establish a digital center that aims to bridge virtual and physical experiences and an industrial incubator platform to facilitate future cooperation.

The landmark collaboration also marks another step forward for the entire China’s energy industry, representing for both Shanghai Electric and Siemens Energy a move to further expand their business scope and advance the ecosystem of their smart energy businesses.

In addition, Shanghai Electric has been granted an upgrade to BB for its MSCI ESG Rating as it continues to advance its practices across Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). A result of the company’s efforts in exploring the new possibilities in the energy sector while setting up measures to protect the health and safety of its employees working for overseas projects.
