Sandvik Coromant strengthens its offering in the digital manufacturing with the acquisition of german Prometec, a company specialized in advanced solutions for monitoring and control of machining processes in production machines. Prometec also supplies equipment for laser beam diagnostics, primarily operating in the european and north american markets, with a large customer base in the global automotive industry and sales in the fiscal year 2014/2015 of approximately 48 Msek.
The acquisition includes all shares in Prometec, and the company will be integrated with Sandvik Coromant, a product area within Sandvik Machining Solutions, marking a step forward in the company’s strategy to focus on digital solutions for Industry 4.0, driving the development of digital offerings supporting customers in planning and control of production, providing added value across users’s value chain.
