crescita 2016 Scm Group

Successful year 2016 for Scm Group, with revenues increased to 600 million euros, compared to the 513 million of 2015. The italian Group is specialized in the production of industrial machinery and components, with a strong position in the production of wood processing machinery, for aluminum, composites, plastics, metal, marble and glass, as well as in the field of advanced components, iron casting, metal structures, electric panels and electric spindles.

Strong investments have been addressed to strenghten the Group’s global presence outside Italy, where revenues doubled in 2016. The Australian operations were consolidated with the acquisition of the historic dealer Gabbett, who continues to lead the Scm Group Australia branch, while in Kuala Lumpur the Group created a new Hub, resulting by the merging of the two branches in Singapore and Malaysia. Impressive results have been achieved in Asia, with major contracts in China and Uzbekistan, and growth has been considerable also in USA and Europe. “We can safely say that 2016 too was a very successful year – says Andrea Aureli, ceo Scm Group – : we have seen a significant revenues increase, expecting to close the year 2016 with a total of nearly 600 million euros, of which over 400 million in the wood industry”.

Great interest in young recruits was also a major mark of 2016, with for example the launch of the ‘We want to be hired by you’ campaign during the month of October, aiming to attract talents from leading universities. The Group added 200 employees in 2016, reaching a total of 3.300 employees worldwide, and did large investments in r&d, launching important programmes including the European ‘Close to the Customer’ project, with the set up of a pilot installation in a Shopping Centre in the North of Italy of a mini-factory that offered ‘live’ and on demand furniture production to the shopping centre costumers.
