Granta Design announced the latest enhancements to its Granta MI:Restricted Substances, a software helping aerospace and other engineering enterprises manage compliance avoiding restricted substances risks. New developments include extended reference data to fill gaps in in-house information, enhanced tools to manager proprietary knowledge and fast apps to answer business-critical questions. Prioritized development of the project are stated by the Environmental materials information technology (EMT) consortium, in Cambridge, including UK members such as Airbus, Boeing, Emerson Electric, GKN Aerospace, Honeywell, Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney.
The efforts of the consortium are indeed essential in order to keep up with shifting global regulations. Granta MI gather data from suppliers and throughout their organizations, linking in-house information to a regularly updated database of more than 8.000 substances and more than 100 international regulations restricting their use, analyzing risks related to materials, processes and products, specifications and projects. Granta is actually recruiting further team members to help deliver the next project phase, in order to keep increasing support of industry collaboration.
