Product traceability in China for Antares Vision
Hong Kong is Antares Vision’s new hub in the Far East, with the opening of a new branch for the Italian Brescia-based company specialized in visual inspection systems, tracking solutions and managing.
The decision to develop a direct presence on the Chinese territory comes as an effort to tap into Made in China 2025’s opportunities, the Chinese project aimed to ensure China the primacy in the technology and production systems innovation sector. As part of the project, China is planning indeed for specific policies aimed at ensuring and increasing product quality while fighting counterfeiting. According to Antares’ annotations, one of the first sectors impacted by these policies should be the pharmaceutical industry.
The Italian company is then expecting to attract a lot of attention with its solutions. As part of a plan for supporting company’s growth, also through the landing on the AIM segment of the Italian stock market and the acquisitions of foreign markets, Antares Vision also created two further branches during 2019, one in India and the other one in Russia. The first one is connected with the establishment of a joint venture with the Jay Instruments and Systems Private Limited Indian company. The second one resulted from the creation of Antares Vision Rus, a 100% subsidiary.
Product traceability for a lot of goods, including tobacco, a number of food categories, shoes, perfumes, clothes, cameras, and medicines, should become mandatory by January 2020 in Russia as well. Anyways, Antares Vision was built to become a market’s stronghold through the opening of a direct subsidiary, expected to employ around 20 units by the end of the year. During the first four months of 2019, the Antares Vision Group’s turnover grew at a 14% rate against the same period last year. In 2018, the group closed the books totaling 118,5 million euro in revenues, +26,1% against the 81.3 million from 2017.
