Comau and Engineering Ingegneria Informatica signed a global collaboration agreement aimed to develop hardware and software solutions for the proactive maintenance of machines, according to Industry 4.0 paradigm. The two companies are joining their expertising and experience in different but complementary sectors, such as Industrial automation (Comau) and ICT (Engineering). This will enable the development and marketing of solutions for predictive maintenance, based on modular hardware and software and designed to acquire and analyze field data, seeking to predict potential occurrence of malfunctions or a full stop of the machines.
The solutions, that will leverage the most advanced technology in IoT, collaborative robots, big data analytics, will address the manufacturing industry, in particular companies operating in the automotive, industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and white goods sectors. “The agreement represents an important element in our strategy to make industrial automation increasingly ‘open’ and easy-to-use – said Mauro Fenzi, ceo of Comau -. This collaboration, and especially the synergy coming from the combination of the know-how of the two companies – both of which have been engaged in the development of solutions for Industry 4.0 for quite some time – allows us to guide manufacturing companies toward the changing production processes related to the fourth industrial revolution”.
