Polymer innovation in China with Victrex

Victrex AITC, Asia Innovation and Technology Center in Shanghai, marked last June its first 10 years, spent in strengthening close collaboration with customers in developing the polymer technology in China, centered on Paek-based solutions. Since its opening in 2006, the Aitc has undergone dynamic growth and development, opening a Film and Coating Lab and constantly adding new technology competence to support customers both in Asia and worldwide.

The Shanghai innovation center is the third in the world, together with two further Victrex technology centers in the UK and Japan, and provides analytical services, design optimization, prototyping and product testing. The Victrex Aitc gives complete technology support to the local customers in the field of consumer electronics, accelerating r&d cycle, and automotive and aerospace sectors, providing high-performance polymer solutions to optimize components design and to reduce the weight while maintaining strength and performance level by replacing metals, improving fuel efficiency and lowering total system cost. “As an invaluable strategic resource – explains Tim Cooper, executive director Victrex plc (in the middle in photo) -, the Aitc on one hand collects feedbacks from customers, spelling out what they want from us, and on the other it allows to introduce new technologies and solutions for challenges faced by customers in China and the region”.
