Partnership Monzesi Steel Motion in bar grinding

The Italian manufacturer of centerless grinding machines Monzesi and Steel Motion, a constructor of bar feeders, signed an agreement for the joined distribution of the product portfolios of both companies. The partnership will also involve bar and tube straightening machines, another product of Steel Motion, also leveraging the strong expertise of IVE, a company in the Monzesi family specialized in bar and tubes straightening for third parts.

The operation will allow Monzesi and Steel Motion to focus on their respective core businesses, while exchanging know how for the continuous development of the machines in the sign of the perfect combination of the products. “Grinding is and will remain our core business – says Riccardo Pessina, general director of Monzesi, which since the ’70s also produces a line of bar feeders -. Ultimately, we were aware of the need to concentrate our R&D on our grinding machines. Thus, we were looking for a partner able to guarantee bar feeders with the same quality level of our grinders”. The partnership actually officializes a situation that was already going on since a long time in the market, where more often Monzesi grinders are perfectly paired with bar feeders by Steel Motion.

“It’s been yet a long time since almost all of our customers use to combine our bar feeding systems with Monzesi machines – explains indeed Gian Luca Bernabei, owner of Steel Motion -. We were feeling too the need to concentrate on our own core business. This partnership finally gives us the perfect opportunity, with the additional benefit of a constant exchange of know-how aimed to the continuous improvement of the interconnection of our two products, and also sharing informations”.

Catalogues gathering the combined commercial proposition of both companies are ready yet, allowing the commercial networks of both partners to offer a complete and unique solution. The collaboration will then help Monzesi to better penetrate the bar sector, while allowing Steel Motion to expand its operations in new markets. In addition to the Italian market, the two companies are ready to approach together the east European markets, especially Romania and Poland, to take on the great opportunities available in the bar industry in the USA and also looking in the medium-short term at China.
