ExxonMobil launched Mobil Pegasus 1100 series, next generation of natural gas engine oil engineered to keep up with gas engine improvements. Gas engine development is indeed pushing boundaries of engine design in terms of increased gas engine power and reduced costs, thus requiring higher demands on lubrication. The series is inspired by major OEMs requests, to cope with severe engine conditions and significantly extends oil drain intervals by up to 1,5 times when compared to conventional mineral oils.
The latest addition to the Mobil Pegasus family protects today’s high output, low emission and four-cycle gas engines, and includes Mobil Pegasus 1105 and Mobil Pegasus 1107. Mobil Pegasus 1107 is designed for high severity natural gas engines, whilst Mobil Pegasus 1105 meets the specifications for all piston types. Both lubricants have a well-balanced formulation, and during comprehensive industry and bench testing they exhibited excellent oxidation and thermal stability, which helps to extend oil life.
The series’ outstanding anti-wear characteristics help reduce wear of engine components and scuffing of liners in highly loaded gas engines. In addition, the oil controls varnish formation and carbon deposits helping to maintain engine cleanliness.
