Nanotechnology in metal parts, Bonfiglioli joins the Tribonano project

As an active member of the IZADI-Nano2Industry consortium, the Italian drive specialist Bonfiglioli proves again itself to be an early adopter, conducting advanced research for the future. The Tribonano pilot project is specialized in the development of modern materials and advanced production processes.

The project is one of three IZADI-Nano2Industry consortium projects. The objective of this international European Union pilot project, which is promoted by the prestigious Horizon 2020 program, is to produce a better, more durable and environmentally friendlier products by transferring nanotechnology from the laboratory to the industry. The Tribonano pilot project addresses the surface handling and coating of metal parts, whereby powders with nanostructure combine metal cermet coating and thermal spray technology to produce more durable and reliable metal parts.

With its valve plate and wobble plate, which are used in mobile construction and agricultural machinery as well as in other mobile machines, Bonfiglioli has integrated two of its hydraulic engine components in the Tribonano project. Through new innovative production process, Bonfiglioli hydraulic engines achieve high efficiency levels and a longer service life in comparison to conventional engines on the market.
