Big Kaiser launched the HMC12J, a super-slim design milling chuck with peripheral coolant supply, configured to support heavy finish and milling tasks delivering high power and precision. The new Hi-Power Milling Chucks (HMC) achieve powerful clamping and high rigidity for heavy cutting applications, with high gripping force to the cutting tool thanks to the unique slim design. Due to the inherently stronger construction of milling chucks, and the design integrating fine slots and hundreds of needle bearings, the clamping force of these chucks is precise and five to six times greater compared to collect chucks.
Despite being designed for heavy cutting, the HMC12J milling chuck maintains an accuracy of ten microns at a 4xD runout, giving it additional flexibility on finishing applications. The slim yet rigid design brings the diameter down to 32 mm, the smallest in its class, achieved whilst maintaining a section of 10 mm to prevent chatter and deliver cutting security. The maximum jet-through coolant pressure is 70 bar, and the chuck can be used on machining centers with conventional splindles, making it easy to add existing tools.
