Metrology Faro in 3D imager arrays
Faro technologies announces Cobalt Imager 3D, a highly-adaptable 3D imager arrays for automated industrial manufacturing metrology. The systems is equipped with on-board processors that can be placed in array configurations virtually anywhere, and in an unlimited number, in the manufacturing process, all scanning simultaneously and controlled by a single computer. Cobalt can also be installed in conventional ways, such as in conjunction with a rotary table, robot or industrial inspection cell.
Combining blue light projection, stereo cameras and powerful on-board processing (patent-pending feature), the system captures and processes millions of 3D data points in seconds, offering high resolution, automatic exposure and high dynamic range, handling complex parts with fine details, varying colors, textures and reflectivity. The solution is suitable for quality inspection and reverse engineering applications, reducing inspection time cycle and offering easier integration and maintenance and more affordable than purchasing robot-based imager or laser line systems. Cobalt 3D Imager seamlessly connects with the full-featured Faro CAM2 Measure 10 metrology software.
