IMA Group strengthens its offering of assembling machinery in the medical sector with the acquisition of the three companies of Komax Group and Telerobot. Through its subsidiary Gima, IMA acquires the entire share capital of Komax Systems LCF SA and Komax Systems Rockford, and 76% of the share capital of Komax Systems Malaysia, with option to buy the remaining 24% that can be exercised in 2018. The three companies represent the Medtech business of Komax Group, specialized in machines for assembling medical products for self-medication, such as inhalers, syringes and insulin injection systems.
Again through Gima, IMA also signed an agreement with the Xenon fund for the acquisition of 75% of Telerobot, an italian company based in Alessandria (TO) specialized in machines for assembling plastics in the field of caps and closures. The acquisitions strengthen the IMA Group in the Automation industry, with automatic assembly platforms in a market expected in strong growth, also adding new commercial and manufacturing synergies coming from the integrations, building a homogeneous group of companies with a broad range of technologies and products and a consolidated turnover of 100 million euros, essential to meet the innovation challenges of the medical sector.
