Logistic capacity NSK in Europe expanded

NSK has commenced the construction of a new European distribution centre (EDC) just 4 km away the existing facility at Tilburg, in the Netherlands, expanding its logistic capacity. Measuring 17.357 sqm, the site will offer 72% more warehouse space and accomodate 51% more pallets, while shelving and docking space will both be doubled. The investment in the facility, close to € 17,5 million, will benefit customers through even more reliable and fast deliveries, with completion scheduled for July 2017 and deliveries expected to start at the end of August.

The new warehouse will stock industrial and automotive bearings for customers located across Europe, including Russia and Turkey, as well as the Middle East. Designed to provide shorter shipping times, increased inventory and product availability for all customers, further investments in IT to manage warehouse and supply chain activities will follow after the relocation, further improving throughput times due to greater flexibility with stockholding. Across the Emea region, NSK Europe has 18 locations in 11 countries, including five production sites and three r&d technology centres.
