Lamprecht appointed new president and CEO of Zeiss
Effective April 1st, 2020, Karl Lamprecht has become the new president and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG, by succeeding the long-serving president and CEO Michael Kaschke.
The decision was taken unanimously by the supervisory board of the company, during a meeting held on September 24. With the appointment of Lamprecht, it was once again possible to fill the position of president & CEO from among the company’s own ranks. Lamprecht is a member of the executive board of Carl Zeiss AG and has headed the Zeiss SMT segment since 2017.
Lamprecht joined Zeiss in 2005 as head of strategic business development for semiconductor technology. There, he successfully took on different management functions, achieving a wide range of management experience, including in the development of growth and innovation strategies and the realization of technology acquisitions.
As planned, after holding its office for 10 years, former president and CEO Kaschke will not seek another reappointment at the term of his contract expiring in 2020. The supervisory board thanked Kaschke for his successful contribution over many years on behalf of the Zeiss Group.
