Intelligent mobility trends Frost & SullivanERT

Frost & Sullivan talked about the trends on Intelligent mobility during a dedicated event last June, focusing on convergence of autonomous driving, connectivity and electrification in the automotive industry. High profile speakers and leading industry players agreed that the mobility industry is facing a profound transformation, with the convergence of intelligent solutions and multi-modal integrated mobility, representing a disruption the industry is facing and increasingly blurring the line between public and private transportation, driven by data that revolves around both car and the consumer.

Tech companies which offer solutions for autonomous driving will compete with traditional OEMs in the future, leading to an expected growth of the market to $ 60 billions in 2030. The automation technology roadmaps of 80% of the major OEMs are also expected to be finalized in 2016, while the rapid development of connected services and sensoring solutions allows to assume that full autonomous functionality can be achieved within the next decade.

Leading OEMs also discussed about new mobility business models, sharing their approaches towards shared mobility, offering a broad spectrum reaching from carsharing, ridesharing and ride hailing to demand responsive solutions and smart parking. Modular solutions and integrated mobility will also impact fleet management, becoming more integrated and comprising not only company vehicles, but increasingly carsharing and other elements of the mobility mix.
