Innovative sustainable cities with Dassault
Dassault Systèmes showcased the 3DExperience City platform at the World cities summit of Singapore last July, a solution aimed to imagine, develop and experience innovative project for innovative sustainable cities of the future. Rapidly growing urban areas are indeed expected to represent 75% of the world’s population by 2020, and yet large cities consume more than half of the energy produced, emitting 80% of the world’s carbon emissions.
The Dassault solution, based on 3D platform technology, helps to simulate the development of sustainable urban areas, under the perspectives of health and social services, utilities, mobility, security and public safety, facilities management and environmental planning, by putting people at the heart of the renewal process and enabling city’s officials, citizens and businesses to work together in a collaborative way. During the event, the company together with HTC presented Virtual Singapore, a smart city prototype realized with 3DExperience City, showing how it’s possible to integrate city data from sensors and systems in a collaborative environment, to virtually represent and manage a real city’s data and processes. An approach that can help address the challenges of urbanization, allowing to explore how cities can better govern and build up resilience through policy, technology and social innovations, to create a more liveable and sustainable future.
