The self-anchoring threaded inserts of the Keep-Nut fastener system by Specialinsert have been chosen as the perfect anchor and cladding solution for the renovations at the Museum and Visitors Center of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The National Monument, commonly referred to as ‘The gateway to the West’, is an iconic tourist destination dedicated to the American people identity, and is the world’s tallest arch, 192 m in height, located on the west bank of the Mississipi River.

The renovation project of the two buildings features Ceasarstone quarts panels, hanging from the walls and ceilings throughout, requiring a high performing fastening system, in particular a 1/4”-20 thread heavy duty fastener ensuring significant pull-out sthrength in Caesarstone quartz. Keep-Nut by Specialinsert was the perfect option, especially in the IM4S/P1.4-20/H8.5 four crown version, able to offer high pull-out strength only inserted 8,5 mm into the stone.

This causes the crowns to flex, providing that high strength without failing. In addition, the internal threading cannot be exceeded which prevents threading too far into the insert which can cause an extraction effect and eventual failure. The self-anchoring system by Specialinsert also offer easy installation, with no need for adhesives, quick assembly and invisible internal assembly, meaning to awkward panels with posts sticking out.
