Kabelschlepp has developed an easy-to-operate shutter door system for the GBA202 CNC thread grinding machine of SMS Maschinenbau, intended for mass production of standard screw taps with straight or spiral grooves and thread formers. The machine is fully enclosed for safety reasons, but has a large door to be opened and closed manually for loading and unloading operations.
The Kabelschlepp system is based on a link apron version 2N, light and flexible, and seals against splash and surge water, offering good protection against chips and lubricants, heat resistant up to 100°C. The customised system, alternative to telescopic covers, offer a wide access while saving space, includes a special winding device with a guide designed taking into account space restrictions, and could stop in any position, preventing injuries to operators. Aluminium door slats are very sturdy, and securely seal access to the loading cabin while the robot is in use. Link aprons from Kabelschlepp are available in three versions, not requiring lateral guiding.
