Sandvik announces the Graphene Challenge, a global contest to find the most innovative solutions using this revolutionary nanomaterial, for applications in a home. Graphene is an extraordinary new material with incredible properties, a million times thinner than a paper sheet and two thousands times stronger than steel, and with unique electrical properties.
From April 7th, Sandvik will examine all the ideas of innovation submitted, referring to industrial design or common daily use objects, for applications in several fields, such as eco-friendly solutions, energy efficiency, recycle of materials or emissions reduction. The Graphene Challenge aim to develop perspectives of this new material, following the big commitment of the company in research and development. Innovative ideas can be submitted until May 26 2016, writing to contactcoromant@sandvik.com, and the winner will receive a paid trip to Sandvik Coromant in Sandviken, Sweden, and a meet-and-greet with some of the top researchers from the field.
