Saverio Gamberini, a member of the board of directors of Ucima (Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) and general manager of MG2, is set to chair a committee creating European standards on packaging machinery safety, known as CEN TC 146.
The name of Gamberini has been put forward by the Ucima Board of Directors, which represent’s a diverse range of companies, including a number operating within the confectionery and bakery market segments. As the trade organisation noted, the fact Italy continues to hold the chair of the committee reflects the leadership role played by the Italian packaging technology industry at an European and global level, as well as the strong attention that Italian manufacturers pay to machine safety standards, regarded as an essential aspect of machinery quality.
“It is an honour for me to represent our country’s industry within this European committee – said Saverio Gamberini -. Safety standards are crucial and I will devote my full attention to all countries”.
Since 2017, Saverio Gamberini has served as general manager of MG2, a family-owned company based in Pianoro (Bologna) and a leading player in the design, production and supply of packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. He became a member of the Ucima’s Board of Directors the same year.
