The level indicators IEG-GCL by Italian F.lli Giacomello ensure a continuous indication of liquids also in marine environments, food and chemical industries thanks to its AISI 316 variant.
The devices are formed by a chain reed-resistors which allows an exact and constant fluid level control, independently from the electrical conductivity of the liquid, its pressure, temperature and presence of foams in it. These level indicators have a simple structure, with the float being the only moving part depending on the flowing of the liquid running along the tube. A toroidal magnet is placed inside the float, driving small reed contacts placed inside the sliding tube with its magnetic field, without physical contact. The actuation of such contacts allows the gradual arming or disarming of the resistances, also placed inside the sliding tube, allowing the continuous reading of the liquid level.
The IEG-GCL ensures precise linear level indication, regardless of the shape of the tank and the distance between the gauge and tank walls. The resistive signal thus generated can be used to directly pilote devices that accept such structured input, or through a Ohm-4/20mA converter, able to drive most of the electronic devices on the market. The levels can also be mounted in by-pass, and offer remote indication and the possibility of piloting additional controls.
