Parker Hannifin presents the High Performance Flange System HPF, a mechanical flange systems for machines and installations with high working pressure of up to 420 bar. The system contributes to a reduction in assembly time and costs, as it substitutes error-prone and time-consuming welding connections. The HPF system offers high pressure and vibration resistance, not only tested under laboratory conditions but also DGUV certified for use in hydraulic equipment of injection moulding machines and mechanical presses.
The Parker solution is a connection system with positive locking, and it complements the product range in the area of EO2 Form and F37 connector technology, with tube outside diameters from 25 mm up. The HPF system consists of the flange, the HPF insert, with O-ring recess or as a flat sealing version, the steel locking ring and one each seal on the port and tube ends, ensuring gas-tight soft-sealing on both the tube and the flange sides. The system is available for steel tube sizes up to 120 x 120 mm, and the associated steel components are supplied with environmentally friendly and high corrosion-resistant Cr(VI)-free surfaces. Flange sizes go from 3/4” to 4”, and are available in accordance with ISO 6162-1, ISO 6162-2 and ISO 6164 standards. Tube flaring is effected in a tulip shape, and has no sharp edges. The technology achieves uniform loading of the surfaces in the whole flange area, resulting in very high break resistance.
The forming process is carried out with a Parflare machine, specially developed for these products, providing hydraulic axial compression. Almost all tube sizes can be machined, with just three flaring mandrels, simply and quickly handling even large-format tubes.
