Europe Digital Day Rome 23 March
Digital Day 2017, an event aimed to Europe digital development, will happen on March 23rd 2017 in Rome, organized by the European Commission and the Republic of Italy, in collaboration with the Maltese Presidency of the European Union. Along with the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, ministers and main representatives of industry and universities are expected to take the floor and are invited to sign declarations committing to concrete progress in digital transformation on the path to Industry 4.0.
Today, digital is to Europe what coal and steel were 60 years ago, when the seeds of what became the European Union were planted. Digital technologies have the same huge potential to improve people’s lives, reinventing the ways of working and to raise investments in the future, bringing huge economic potential for European innovation, strengthening economy and society. The Digital Day will put Europe’s digital challenges and future in the spotlight, exploring the role of digital in daily life of Europeans, in industry, economy and society. The works will bring together participants in four different sessions, covering high performance computing for European competitiveness, digitizing European industry, connected and automated mobility and the impact on jobs and skills of digital transformation. More infos and the agenda are available on the DG CNECT page.
All sessions will be web streamed, and social media channels of the event will give the possibility to join the debate using the ashtag #DigitalDay17.
