Efficiency in compressors with Mattei
Mattei enhanced efficiency in compressors equipping its whole range with three-phase asynchronous motors with Soft-Start system, created in collaboration with the Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation brand that deals with industrial automation. The Soft-Start system is designed to contain the energy expenditure usually occurring at the time of switching on and off of an electric engine, when it is possible to record absorption peaks which are 8 times higher than the nominal value, with negative impact on electricity bills and the risk of sanctions by the Authority.
The first experiments between Mattei and Allen-Bradley date back to five years ago, and the system allows the start of the electric motor without mechanical stress and with a controlled power consumption, guaranteeing a great fluidity in both starting and stopping the motor. After the feasibility studies and trials, a period of testing has been conducted on electrical and mechanical functionality of the solution in conjunction with Mattei, verifying a positive feedback from the market, and during these years the system never received any reports on failures or malfunctions, proving its particular reliability and customer’s appreciation.
