Thales Alenia Space España selected the dynamic meshing of MSC Apex simulation software to decrease the number of physical prototypes, improving product designs in compliance with international regulations regarding safety and strength. Optimization and validation for quality of product design and compliance, along with time and cost savings, are critical in the development of space systems and equipment for application in telecommunications and navigation produced by the company, a spanish subsidiary of Thales Alenia Space.

MSC Apex is powered by a CAE specific direct modeling and meshing engine, and will enable the company to accelerate the CAD geometry cleanup and idealization steps, allowing engineers from Thales Alenia Space España to easily edit and modify CAD geometries without having to go back to the CAD model, or do any additional re-meshing. The company relied upon MSC software simulation solutions for 20 years, including MSC Nastran, reducing the time required to prepare the model and mesh by 30% to 80%, also reducing the number of physical tests, dramatically reducing costs and enhancing optimization and validation processes of their equipments.
