Comau made its public television debut on the italian Island of Survivors show with a NJ650 robot, on the first episode of the eleventh edition of the famous reality show conducted by Alessia Marcuzzi, aired last march. The NJ650 robot, animated by Comau’s system integrator for the the TV and entertainment industry Event Management, opened at the beginning of each of the episodes a giant LED wall measuring 20×5 m, allowing Alessia Marcuzzi to enter the studio set, by creating a passage of 2,5×2 m inside the LED wall.
The Smart NJ650 robot is part of the Comau’s range of high-payload robots, able to efficiently manipulate components of significant size and weight: the robot model can handle a payload of up to 650 kg, has a maximum horizontal reach of 2,70 m and ISO 9283 repeatability from 0,15 mm. Like other Comau’s heavy load and high reach robots, is characterized by high stiffness, compact and space-saving design and optimized load capacity/payload relationship, a perfect solution for multiple industrial applications including handling, spot welding of large body parts for automotive sector, and the manipulation of heavy components for machine tending operations, as well as palletizing, deburring and polishing, packaging and machining in general.
