Faro Technologies launched this year the Factory Robo-Imager product line, combining the Faro Factory Array Imager sensors with a collaborative robot, providing highly adaptable, safe and automated in- and near-line collaborative inspection solutions. Presented in January 2016, the Faro Factory Array Imager is a metrology-grade 3D sensor with blue light technology, capable to quickly capture high-resolution data for dimensional inspection on parts, assemblies and tools.
Coupled with a collaborative-robot, the Robo-Imager provides a turnkey solution to automate inspection and verification of parts, at any location in the production environment. The product line pairs the sensor with a human-collaborative robot in two configurations, either a fixed installation or turnkey mobile station. The Robo-Imager fixed installation can be mounted anywhere in the factory, while Robo-Imager Mobile is the same solution mounted on an instrumented cart, that can be quickly moved to wherever measurements tasks are required.
