Clean cutting and CNCs from Hypertherm

Posted 11 January 2016

Hypertherm brought to Fabtech 2015 a waterjet abrasive management system combining the automated abrasive removal unit PowerDredge in cleaning process, and the abrasive recycling EcoSift unit, available from 2016, that reduces labor costs. Analysis and tests showed indeed that up to 60% of abrasive sitting at the bottom of a waterjet table still owns proper specifications required for brand new waterjet, cutting down costs being reused.

Hypertherm also showed the new generation of Edge Connect CNCs, with updated hardware and EtherCAT connectivity, 65% lighter and consuming 70% less of electricity, enhanced with the Phoenix software that includes ProCut Wizard, for quick job set-up, and an introductory version of ProNest CNC nesting software, enabling to create a part program directly from the CNC. Edge Connect CNCs are also equipped with SureCut technology, simplifying 2D and 3D cutting through automatic inclusion of optimized process parameters. Also debuted at Fabtech the robotic offline programming software Robotmaster and two new air plasma options, Freedom 38 PPA and Powermax30 AIR, for remote cutting and gouging.
