Tsubaki Kabelschlepp developed an automatic and monitored outdoor testing system for cable carriers in cranes systems, for all crane and long travel path applications. The system can automatically simulate travel lengths of more than 100 m, and travel speeds of up to 5 m/sec: the 116,5 m long testing facility for cable carriers requires two fully automated and individually controlled 105 m travel length.
This length corresponds to the trolley travel length of a seaport container crane, and the maximum test speed of the 1,3 ton system trolley propelling the long travel chain system is 5 m/s, with an acceleration of 1 m/s2. Actual test procedures of the system have been focused by the company on the unloading procedures in a port, characterized by a somewhat irregular pattern, and therefore an irregular load for the overall system. Tsubaki Kabelschlepp has also developed a monitoring system for the pull/push forces on the energy-chain system, to ensure the system to run for seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The monitoring system can be used not only for monitoring trials, but also on actual applications, and the crane operator can also be integrated as a safety upgrade into existing crane systems.
