Balancing compound Delo for PMB rotating partsERT

Delo and German-based mechanical engineering company PMB developed together a new balancing process that employs a compound to correct any unbalances identified in highly accurate measurements.

The additive balancing technology is employed for rotating parts found in electric motors, fans, pumps and turbines, avoiding subtractive processes and the need to remove any material from the product, thus being chips-free and more material-efficient. The Delo’s high density and specially modified balancing material is automatically and precisely applied in minimum quantities using a Delo-DOT D4 microdispensing valve, directly in the PMB’s measurement station. Irradiation with Delo’s Delolux UV lamps cures the balancing material completely within few seconds, ensuring fast cycle times and increasing the lifetime of products.

An improved unbalance enhances indeed quality by reducing vibrations and loads, also enabling higher rotational speeds, lower noise volumes and a longer lifetime. With minimum possible correction accuracies of 0.1 mg, residual unbalances of 1 mg*mm, as found in the optical industry, can be achieved. The excellent reliability also makes this process ideal for medium unbalances of 50 to 100 mg*mm, that can be found in small fans.

The newly developed process is available as a standard solution which is easy to implement and is scalable from small batch to large-scale production.
