Award Volvo Cars to Comau

Comau received the Volvo quality excellence award from Volvo Cars Corporation, for the framing station provided to the constructor. The recognition has been made in Volvohallen in Torslanda, Goteborg, for the commodities framing for the production facilities of the XC90, S90 and V90 vehicles. The project employs a geometric transportation system VersaPallet by Comau, consisting of a framing station where 10 robots simultaneously assembly the body of the three different models.

Comau leveraged its most advanced know-how and techniques to develop the project, undertaken 5 years ago and still in full development, such as virtual engineering and commissioning, significantly reducing design time and project development risks. The company also ascribes the achievement of the project to the efforts of people who were involved in it, in particular to the willingness to listen to customer needs, the reliability in terms of commitments undertaken and the strong will to achieve the promised results, elements that allowed a fruitful and transparent cooperation with Volvo Cars.
