Automated logistic hub Festo in CincinnatiERT

Festo officially presented its new automated logistic hub in Mason, Cincinnati, where the company transferred its Regional Service Center for the Nafta region. With an investment of 60 million $, the center is located in the heart of the greater Cincinnati area, a metropolitan region including several counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, a highly strategic location due to the intense presence of manufacturing companies and for the excellent logistic infrastructure, with numerous highway connections, several airports and a DHL distribution center.

From Mason the company will be able to serve 60% of its customer base in the region, supplying them with automation products in a 10-hours-truck-drive. The Festo Mason RSC harbors a fully automated wharehouse with high-tech mechatronics, operated by a 10 stacker cranes automated storage retrieval system (AS/RS), achieving acceleration superior to the Porsche 911, and 7 picking and packaging stations supplied by a conveyors network, providing operators with all the goods to complete orders.

An assembly area is also present in the RSC, for the rapid customization of orders based on local customers’ requests, ensuring lowest lead time and quick delivery. The Mason hub also hosts the Learning Center MidWest of Festo Didactic, committed in offering training programs in collaborations with local companies to contribute filling the large skill gap engendered by the reindustrialization and strong automation of the American economy.
