The global private markets investment manager Partners Group has agreed to acquire the Italian leading manufacturer of power transmission belts Megadyne Group, on behalf of its clients. Megadyne develops and manufactures polyurethane and rubber belts for use in power transmission and conveying systems, as well as a range of complementary products such as rubber hoses and metal pulleys.
The operation follows Partners Group’s recent agreement to acquire Ammeraal Beltech, a global leader in light-weight process and conveyor belting. The combined enterprise value of the two transactions is 2 billion euro, and both include investment participation from management teams. The Tadolini family, founder of the Megadyne company, has indeed chosen to reinvest into the acquisition, convinced that numerous growth opportunities still lie ahead for the Group, and looking forward to benefiting from Partners Group’s track record of investment in the industrial sector.
Once the acquisitions of Megadyne and Ammeraal will be closed later this year, Partners Group would in a next step plan a merger of the two companies, which have highly complementary products and services. The potential merger would benefit both companies and their clients, creating a full-service provider across specialist industrial transmission belting and lightweight conveyor belting.
