Ssab presents the Hardox HiTemp wear plate, a special wear resistant steel plate standing up to abrasive conditions in high heat environments up to 500°C. The high temperature performance of Hardox HiTemp is achieved by using high-quality raw material in combination with carefully controlled manufacturing process.

These improvements allow the material to reach and maintain new levels of hardness and toughness at higher temperatures, in the 300-500°C range, where traditional quenched and tempered wear resistant steels experience a loss of hardness. Hardox HiTemp can be cut, welded, machined and cold formed by the same kind of workshop machinery and technology as other Hardox grades and conventional steels. The new Ssab’s wear plate in an ideal choice for high temperature wear applications in process industries such as steel, cement and coal power plants, recycling and asphalt industries.
