Lamiera 2016, growth in forming technology

The eighteenth edition of Lamiera, the italian international production of machine tools and metal forming technologies show held in Bologna, ended with a positive +10% increase in visitors, reaching 20.395, of which 857 from foreign countries. The trade show will then move to Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in Milan for Lamiera 2017, scheduled from 17 to 20 May, switching to odd years the biennial event. The new location will allow to better accomodate the foreign visitors, also due to the increasing interest expected based on the success of this year’s edition.
Lamiera 2016 registered 386 exhibiting companies, 30% of them coming from outside Italy, occupying an overall exhibition space of 35.000 sq m, +10% compared to the previous edition, with great satisfaction expressed by visitors and many contacts and negotiations achieved during the event. Following the success in 2014, Lamiera 2016 also proposed a second edition of Blech Italy, an area dedicated to steel, metal alloy and non-ferrous metal manufacturing chain, and further enriched its contents offering with Lambda 4.0, dedicated to illustrare the commitment of the sector in the study and implementation of Industry 4.0, in addition to the intense conference programme, involving more than 400 operators, and more than 500 bilateral meetings between italian companies and many operators of foreign delegations, invited by Ucimu, the italian machine tool, robots and automation systems manufacturer’s association.
