Hypertherm presents the Max Control gouging shield for increased control when gouging with Powermax air plasma systems. The shield has a tip allowing the operator to create a very shallow profile, removing a very precise amount of metal.
Hypertherm expands with the introduction of Max Control its offerings of Powermax gouging consumables, yet including Max Removal Gouging shield, designed to remove a large amount of metal leaving deeper profiles, and HyAccess extended gouging consumables, for extra reach when working in hard to reach or confined spaces. The three systems are all available for Powermax systems using a Duramax or Duramax Hyamp torch, including Powermax65 through Powermax125, and older systems with Duramax retrofit torches, such as Powermax600, Powermax900 and Powermax1650. The company sees a steady increase in the use of plasma for gouging, thanks to the advantages offered instead of alternative methods such as carbon arc, such as cleaner gouges with no carbon contamination, easier clean-up and a safer work environment.
