Food safety with Ensinger thermoplastics

Posted 10 March 2016

Ensinger has developed its semi-finished Tecaform AH ID blue acetal copolymer in order to guarantee safety in food processing. This plastic material can be employed to build components in plants and equipments for food production and packaging, made of acetal resin with the addition of special additives detectable via metal detectors, usually already present in the production line. In case of a damage to a component during processing, the fragments are quickly detected, preventing expensive and damaging product recalls from the market, ensuring maximum food safety for consumers.

The material is also colored in blue, in order to make optical detection easier, both by operators or quality inspection cameras, and the employ of plastic materials for machinery components can also reduce weight, saving energy and costs. All the semi-finished in the Ensinger ID series, available in a wide range of versions for all the final application needs, are compliant to severe requirements of the food industry, tested for migration based on EU 10/2011 Reg., and made from raw materials FDA compliant.
